Exploring TASC Topics in Mathematics with the
TI-30XS MultiView™ Scientific Calculator

Educators will learn the basics of the TI-30XS MultiView™ scientific calculator to help adult learners succeed in the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) math portion.

This workshop emphasizes foundational concepts in Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Mathematics as measured by TASC and introduces the TI-30XS MultiView™ scientific calculator in the context of core algebra and geometry concepts. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to model TASC strategies and skills for adult learners.

Overview

This is a one-day, in-person workshop. A half-day workshop option is also available. A virtual workshop is also available in multiple two- or three-hour sessions.

Participants in this workshop will:

  • Review key features including built-in functionality for (x,y) tables of values; one- and two-variable statistics; and conversions between fractions, decimals and percents.
  • Use the MathPrint™ feature to display expressions, symbols and fractions as they appear in TASC items.
  • Discuss effective strategies for selected- and gridded-response questions with TI-SmartView™ emulator software.
