Gear up, innovators! Prepare to put your creative and coding skills to the test for the 8th annual TI Codes Contest. Whether you’re a seasoned participant or new to the contest, this is your chance to show your stuff.
The challenge
Use TI technology to automate or optimize a process or product related to motion or movement.
First, start assembling your team! Every team must include up to five students (ages 13–19), plus one adult sponsor like a teacher, parent or guardian. Think up an innovative idea based on motion or movement for the chance to compete for awesome prizes.
Grand prize winners
Each member of the winning team will receive their choice of a new TI graphing calculator, a new TI-Innovator™ Hub and TI-Innovator™ Rover, and T-shirt. The winning team’s adult sponsor will also receive a $250 gift card.
Second and third place
Each member of the second and third place teams will receive their choice of a new TI graphing calculator and a T-shirt.

Enter for a chance to compete round by round
Round 1: Design the solution
The contest begins with a project plan and design. The upcoming contest packet will provide the template for submissions and more detailed instructions for entering. Teams are welcome to submit multiple design packets, but please note only one project may be selected to advance by the contest judges.
The deadline for submissions is February 14, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Central time.
Round 2: Build the solution
The contest judges will select up to 10 eligible teams to advance to the next round. Each of these teams will receive a TI technology package with supplies to build their project.
The TI technology package will include:
The choice of one TI-84 Plus CE Python or TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculator (selected by the team).
One TI-Innovator™ Hub and one BBC micro:bit.
One set of TI-Innovator™ accessories including breadboard, ranger, input/output module and external battery.
One $50 gift card to purchase additional supplies.
Round 3: Voting
Every team will be required to create a video showcasing their solution. The contest judges will then select up to 5 team videos, which will be voted on by the public.
The team video with the highest number of votes will be awarded the grand prize!
